Tucson Magic provides fundamentally sound, quality instruction to boys, ages 9-16 and girls, ages 13-16. We offer a full service approach to club basketball that is highly competitive yet appropriately inclusive. Structured practice, league play, travel opportunity and individual lessons are available to our participants.
We have over fifty years of combined coaching experience at both the club and interscholastic levels. Our approach to the game is founded upon individual improvement within the team concept. We are educators and career coaches with specialized training, specific to working with student-athletes.

Founder and Director of the Magic Basketball Association. Coach Patton is the 2012 winner of the Positive Coaching Alliance Coach of the Year. He is one of 20 coaches selected nationwide for the award. Coach Patton is a former Varsity and Middle school coach. He also provides individual basketball personal training for athletes. Coach Mark Gaxiola has an extensive background in the sport of basketball both as a player and a coach. He has over 18 years of coaching high school basketball in the Tucson community. He currently is the boy’s varsity basketball coach at Tanque Verde high school. Coach Gaxiola was selected AIA division 1A section II Coach of the year 2010-2011. Coach Gaxiola stresses to his players self-discipline, commitment to team, and the importance of hard work. He believes that these core elements will be the framework to individual and team success. Coach Kipling is the Assistant Director of the Magic Basketball Association. He is an educator at Tanque Verde Elementary School where he teaches Physical Education and Lego Robotics. He has coached for over twenty years at Emily Gray Middle School, YMCA, NYS Youth Basketball as well as coaching in Little League of America. Coach Kipling can be reached at (520) 323-3332.
